Car Talk, Cops, and Products for your car

Hey Bob, hold my bearclaw for a minuite will ya?
What to do when your pulled over.
I recently read an article from something called "Chuckies house of info" or some garbage like that and it was about what to do if you're pulled over. Well, I don't claim to be an expert but I have read/hear/experienced what to do when pulled over. So here's just a quick and dirty rundown. Obviously pull over in a timely manner and put your hands on the steering wheel. Turn on your dome lights if it's nighttime. (I prefer to put my hands out the window casually sometimes.) Don't get your license/registration out of glove box until/if even asked. Of course be friendly. Usually the first question is "Do you know why I pulled you over?" The answer is ALWAYS "No officer, I have no idea." What they're trying to do is to get you to admit guilt. (i.e speeding) Then they'll tell you why. "I pulled you over for _____" let's say the most common, speeding. They'll usually ask you "Do you know how fast you were going." You say "yes i do." Now you need to of course have some idea of how fast you were going or else you say no. But the next question will be. "well how fast were you going then?" Your response, in a friendly way will be "I'd like to use my right to remain silent." This way, if you don't admit you were speeding, you leave the ball in his/her court. They might have got you at 65 when you were going 70, hey, you save a few bucks, maybe you know you were going 70 and they give you a ticket for 75, in which case you take it to court and have an easy win, since they obviously mistook you for the car next to you. This has worked for me, and remember, you always have the Right to remain silent. Good luck.

SRO: Street Racing
Well, i've always wanted to keep a comprehensive listing of cars that I have raced and beaten, and lost too. I'm talking about the red light, complete stop, let's get it on race. None of this, I kicked his ass, but he/she didn't want it. If that were the case, i'd have beaten a Vette that didn't want it. But no. Here I will document, some races, close calls, and fun i've had with my cars.

My first car
87' Volvo 740 TurboDiesel
Yeah, turbo diesel, go ahead, laugh, it's okay. I kicked plenty of ass in that car though. My favorite occasion. 5:00pm friday, red light, me and my best friend Eric in the car, nothing ahead but plenty of road, i'm in the slow lane. Sitting at the stoplight, my buddy looks across and says, "hey those girls are waving", i look over, roll the window down, two girls in a (guessing on the year) ~88 Audi 5000. Girl 1 "Hey baby, where's the party?" My suave line "I don't know baby", Girl 1 "wanna race?", just then out of the corner of my eye the light turns green. I mash the hell out of it, in James Bond fashion, the guy behind me is in a cloud of black smoke, no doubt gasping for air. I take off, I then a second later hear the squealing of tires from the Audi, it was close, but I won. A white corvette had notice the race and caught up with us and by that time I had to turn and he got the pleasure of having fun with the girls. Damn, that was fun.

Second car, 85' Lincoln Town Car
My parents were looking for a car for my graduation, and they came across this one, priced good, I was a little leary on the whole thing. But Eric convinced me that I could "pimp" it out. From then on, I have been addicted to pimping/tricking out cars.
Favorite story. First night my dad gets the Towncar, he brings it home and Eric and I are there. He has to leave for a while and says to me "Now don't take the car out. I don't have insurance on it yet. Don't take the car out." "Okay dad, no problem, i'll just chill here tonight" He says "No i'm serious, don't take the car out, I don't want you to get into an accident without insurance. Plus it's dark out, don't take it out." "Okay, don't worry, just go have fun." "I'm serious, DON'T TAKE THE CAR OUT". Then he leaves. No sooner than the garage door shuts, I look to Eric and say "So wanna take the car out?" We get the keys and take her for a spin. Now I hadn't drove it so I wanted to test it out a bit. I took it on the highway, it was dark out, and i had it up to like 50, going along, then this car comes barreling up behind in the next lane, "You ain't passing me buddy" so I give it hell and am going neck and neck with this guy next to me at about 80mph in a 55 zone. Just as i'm getting close to a (now green) stoplight I notice that it's a cop! If you've ever felt like vomiting, crying, and losing all control of your bowels, you felt like I did at that second. I quickly took a right, onto another road and believe it or not, he kept going straight. I took it home after that, shaking like a leaf and saying hail mary's all the way.
When I finally got insurance, and it was new, and I actually did some maintenance to it, I took out a Jeep with some punk ass high school kids in it. That was refreshing. After a while those, that car didn't have a nut, it was damn slow. But decked out w/tinted windows, dual exhuaust, chrome air vents, and a tight system.

Car Products
Varad LED Scanners

http://www.millionbuy.com/caudio-kit-scan.html

I'll just start out by giving you the web address for these. I had put one in my car a while ago. The best part about these is that you can use them with or without and alarm. They are scanners that come in a variety of colors. Basicall a deterrant for theft (or attractor depending on how you want to look at it) for your car. The red ones that I have are the most inexpensive. Only plus shipping on this website. At stores they are anywhere from -. Quite a good deal. Shipping though is a little steep, about , but if you get a couple people to buy those, split the cost, it isn't too bad. I bought a total of 5. Yeah, 5. One for me, a red one to compliment my other red one. I wanted the blue ones, but they were much, much more expensive. One for my gf, which was the green/red clear one, and three more for friends. I ordered it on the phone and they said they didn't have all of them in stock, but would ship them as soon as they did. And wouldn't charge me extra shipping. As it turns out I got all the stuff in two seperate packages about a week later. They all worked. I connected mine by splicing the three wires into the existing ones. Not too tough, but it took a little time. I hooked the other one for my gf up with no problem either. Since she doesn't have an alarm I hooked the positive up to her cigarette lighter (constant positive), negative to the cigarette lighter, and the third and sometimes hardest one, to the radio fuse in the fuse box. The third wire is the trickiest, only becuase it need to give power when the car is off, and no power when it's on. So this worked just fine. The wiring looked good, and I like the multi colored lights of hers better than mine. Although with the red and blue ones you can alter the speed of the led's. And they also have different ways the lights can flash. About 6-8 varieties. I did help one of my friends hook his up to his Honda Civic. And boy did I have a hell of a time wiht that one though. I thought that Civics being so easy to mod would be a piece of cake. It was not the case. The fuse box was hard to get to. So was the cigarette lighter. I had to wire it into a different positive, an existing negative, and I couldn't figure out where the yellow wire went to on his alarm. I luckily found something on his fuse box that the yellow would work with and hooked it up. The usual 30 minuite job took over an hour. All in all though a nice accessory to add to your car, if you live in a bad neighborhood, or just want to add a little flair to your car. I get compliments and people going "cool, what is that?". Good luck.

Corsica/Beretta spec sheet
Some things to note on this GM spec sheet are that the "sportier" Beretta is actually longer than the Corsica. The Corsica has more room, and is lighter.

9005 Max Green High Beams

I recently purchased some green high beams to replace my old 15w bulbs I had in the slot for my high beams
I purchased them online from www.showparts.com. They were about with shipping and all.
I got them in a little over a week. Which is acceptable. I removed my old set up and replaced
them with the new actual high beams (65W). They are more of a gold/green/white. If that makes
any sense. They aren't as green as my previous bulbs, but brighter. Not as bright
as my low beams. They are 85W. I don't think cops will give me too much trouble, but
we shall see.

I have since taken out the bulbs and they are now just collecting dust. If anyone has any interest in them, feel free to email me with an offer.
